While Preparing Dinner. Chopping the veggies.
Josh: Ma?
Me: Yes?
Josh: Who will I marry when I grow big?
Froze. Fingers almost chopped off.
Me: Why? Why are you asking me that question? (Trying to sound as calm as possible)
Josh: I want to see who I will marry so that I will know.
Me: Well, we don't know yet.
Josh: But who? I want to see how she looks like.
Me: Jet!!!!!! Your son needs to ask you a question!!!!

And what did he say??
So Jet came out, and asked Josh what his question was and Josh asks again. And Jet stands there and looks at me puzzled (what is happening kind of look). And I say, "answer Josh's question." And so Jet says "That's a long time from now."
Done. Finished. End of conversation.
as early as now I sometimes freak myself out wondering who my girls will marry. My eldest seems not so interested in boys yet, she's into books, but my little girl says she's married to Pablo of Backyardigans and she's only three! one can't help but wonder if they'll be as discriminating as we were when it comes to chosing their partner in life. But wait! they're still babies! God bless=)
Sounds just like a man!
LOL. So cute.
When we were Orthodox Jews, we light candles every Friday night. One candle for each member of the family. I call out their names as I light their candle.
When my daughter was 3, she insisted on lighting her own candle. I almost burned my hand when I heard her say her classmate's name for her second candle.
When I asked what she just did, she said she's lighting a candle for her husband. :P
I think the idea of marriage fascinates kids. Bella always points out our wedding picture to remind me that's "us when we got married" hehe.
